INTRODUCTION
Anodyne Therapy, A NON-INVASIVE, DRUG FREE treatment, has had
success in relieving symptoms in over 75% of patients receiving
treatment, bringing a real hope for relieving pain and numbness in
many patients suffering from compromised blood circulation
associated with conditions such as Peripheral
Neuropathy.
WHAT IS ANODYNE
THERAPY?
Anodyne Therapy is a patented, FDA-cleared, monochromatic infrared
energy (MIRE) technology that uses an array of light emitting
diodes. In short it is invisible light energy. This light (photo)
energy is the source of the therapy's successful
treatments.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
When the infrared photo energy is emitted through contact with the
skin, muscles surrounding the arteries and veins relax, as a result
there is an increase of circulation, improved function of the
nerves, promoting collagen synthesis and angiogenesis, all of which
are essential for healing,
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THE THERAPY
TREATMENT?
Any patient with pain or compromised circulation (particularly in
the feet and lower legs) interfering with their sleep or other
daily activities may benefit from Anodyne Therapy. There has been
great success in the treatment of peripheral neuropathy, a disorder
of the peripheral nervous system, a condition that often affects
people with diabetes and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid
arthritis and lupus

HOW DOES ANODYNE THERAPY HELP DIABETIC
PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY?
The device, which received FDA approval in 1994, reduces pain and
increases circulation, according to the company Anodyne Therapy.
How does it work? The Anodyne Therapy System uses monochromatic
infrared energy (MIRE) to release nitric oxide from the patient's
red blood cells. The company says this improves nerve function and
is important for making new blood vessels and healing wounds. As
the company notes, low levels of nitric oxide are common in people
with diabetes and are a major factor in the poor circulation, loss
of sensation, chronic falls, foot ulcers and pain of diabetic
peripheral neuropathy.
The manufacturer also emphasizes that Anodyne
Therapy has been clinically proven to increase local
microcirculation and reduce pain. It says there are several
clinical studies that demonstrate significant clinical outcomes
including restoration of protective sensation in patients with
diabetic peripheral neuropathy, pain reduction, increased nerve
conduction and faster healing of diabetic ulcers and other chronic
wounds. Podiatrists also tout the products benefits.

COMMENTS FROM OUR PHYSICAL
THERAPISTS
We have had great success using our Anodyne Therapy treatment with
our patients. It is non-invasive and has no side effects. The
treatment uses monochromatic infrared light to increase
microcirculation, to decrease pain and numbness. Some patients feel
results immediately while others notice results after a couple of
weeks. The results vary in patients, and depends on their symptoms
and condition. Treatments are three times per week.
PATIENT
COMMENTS
Two months ago I was on the verge of losing
my large toe to amputation. After Anodyne Therapy twice a
day for one week, the pain level was reduced by 50% and my toe
showed significant improvement. For me the Anodyne therapy has been
a blessing.
"My husband Alex and I were both very
surprised at the results of our Anodyne treatment for peripheral
neuropathy. For the first time in years we are almost free of pain!
We felt they were family. We recommend Physiocare to
everyone!"
